Tree Tent by Luminair

It appears everyone I know is going camping this Easter holiday.
I love the idea of heading off into the great outdoors in search of adventure.
It’s just the promise of nonstop rain that has slightly dampened my enthusiasm.

However, if it was on a trip into the forest to a Tree Tent by Luminair I could be swayed!
What a rare treat to wake up high in a thick green forest canopy…

Inspired by the early Zeppelin engineering, the Tree Tents are a cocoon like sanctuary. They offer a comfortable, low impact shelter all year round.

The Tree Tent concept was initially created by Jason Thawley an architectural engineer who specialises in sustainable design.

It’s all very well having a brilliant idea but the key to success is to surround yourself with good people. He teamed up with some truly remarkable talent like Dylan Pym (steam bender/furniture maker extraordinaire), Duncan Ritchie (automotive engineer with a gift for lightweight engineering) and Alasdair Ritchie (the Phileas Fogg of balloon and airship engineering).

The interior is just as brilliant – a great use of space:

The Tree Tents are made up of a lightweight hybrid frame (aluminium and steam bent ash) that are encompassed in 100% cotton canvas.

This is more than just a clever design or something that looks a lot of fun to stay in – it is a way to encourage and involve people to interact and be part of the conservation of the forests. One of the keys to ensure that they are more than just timber farms (sustainably managed or otherwise) is that people use them.

The Tree Tent gives you the perfect excuse to spend some time with Mother Nature.
And a great place to enjoy your Easter eggs…
