Art Prints by Ellis Benson – typography with a twist…

I wonder if there is a word for that wonderful feeling of surprise and joy that hits you when you realise that there is more to what you are looking at than you first thought. That is the feeling I got when I looked at “Pursuit of Happiness” by Ellis Benson.

To set the scene, I was trying to find something a little unusual for a client who is a huge Audrey Hepburn fan. The open plan living/dining room has quite a contemporary feel so I was looking at something that had a bold yet clean graphic, with a punch of colour.

I also wanted it to tie in with the existing framed poster from Roman Holiday which stared Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. With a plot that sees them tearing around Rome on a Vespa in pursuit of happiness…

When I stepped up to look closer I saw that the image was filled with a beautiful and heart-warming collection of ways to find happiness.

The whole range is just as brilliant. There is something about a great graphic and typography that works so perfectly!

Now tell me that doesn’t give you a huge urge to run outside in the next downpour and start singing in the rain!
